His father, John Reaves, was an All-American quarterback at the University of Florida and later played 11 seasons in the NFL. David’s own career started as a 3-year starting quarterback for Appalachian State and continued as a successful division 1 football coach for over 10 years including stints at IMG Academy, University of South Carolina, University of Tennessee, and University of South Florida.
